President & CEO
Environmental & Planning Services
Diane is a registered landscape architect with a special focus on environmental planning, particularly in carrying out NEPA requirements. As an environmental planner, she fosters the connection between people and the environment by helping the public understand the value of natural, social, and cultural resources. In keeping with this philosophy, during much of her career Diane has played a key role in helping public agencies identify, preserve, and manage sensitive landscapes. By carefully describing and characterizing the visual characteristics of landscapes that may be affected by a project, Diane is able to help public agencies and others to develop project designs that minimize visual impact. She also has a particular strength in helping the public learn about, respond to, and shape projects that will affect the environment in which they live—from the potential impact of a proposed freeway alignment to the character of a local park and how it serves the community who uses it. Diane is adept at helping the public identify its values, needs, and desires and incorporating their input, which results in successful projects.
Diane is LSD’s founding principal and CEO. She is responsible for all environmental and planning projects undertaken by LSD.
